Custom Design Constraints

  • Custom connector designs require a minimum order quantity of 100 units for standard programs. Lower MOQs are negotiable for defense and medical programs with longer lifecycle commitments.
  • Prototype turnaround of 15 business days applies to modifications of existing platforms. Fully novel connector architectures may require 6-10 weeks depending on tooling complexity.
  • Our electromagnetic simulation capabilities cover frequencies up to 67 GHz. Applications above this range (e.g., E-band 71-86 GHz) require partner laboratory collaboration.

Testing Limitations

  • PIM testing is performed at two-carrier CW conditions per IEC 62037. Multi-carrier modulated signal PIM testing (closer to real-world conditions) is available through partner facilities upon request.
  • Environmental qualification per MIL-STD-810G covers Methods 501-516 (temperature, humidity, vibration, shock, salt fog). Specialized tests such as fungus resistance (Method 508) or explosive atmosphere (Method 511) require extended lead times.
  • Fiber connector endface geometry measurements are traceable to NIST standards. RF measurement uncertainty is ±0.05 dB for insertion loss below 18 GHz and ±0.10 dB above 18 GHz.
